Ethiopian Airlines has rewarded its top 20 performing travel agents in the country for their outstanding contributions to increasing the revenue of airlines through the sale of tickets.
At a colorful ceremony in Accra, the airline presented cheques for an undisclosed amount and certificate of recognition to the hardworking working travel agents.
The agents that were rewarded included Grace and Travel and Tours Limited, Accra Air Travel Centre Ltd, H&M Travel and Tourism, Kenpong Travel and Tourism, African Origin Travels, Johnson Travels, Kumasi Travel Agency, Plus 1 Travel and Tour and Jokar Travel and Tours Limited, among others.
The rest were Satguru, Afro Wings, Travel Matters, Doscar, FJ Travel and Tours, GS Plaza, Jubilee Travel and Tours, Pozar Travel and Tours, Platinum Tours and Travel Limited, Stellar Travel and Tours and Melcom Travel and Tours Limited.
Genet W. Michael, Ethiopian Airlines’ Country Manager for Ghana, said the awards event was organized to express the appreciation of the airline to the travel agents, who have helped to boost their performance.
She said the airline was poised to serve its customers better through the introduction of new routes in its network in recent months, adding that the new routes would provide passengers with more connectivity and flexibility in their travels.
The travel agents expressed appreciation to Ethiopian Airlines for recognizing their efforts.
According to them, Ethiopian Airlines has been performing very well on the Ghanaian market since the introduction of its new aircraft, the Boeing 787, stating that the downward revision of its fares, increase in commissions for travel agents, as well as advertisements has contributed to the success of the airline in Ghana.
The event is expected to be held two to three times a year.
