Kweku Baako Junior
The Editor-in-Chief of the Crusading Guide newspaper Kweku Baako Junior has revealed that some lawyers of the judges who were caught in the latest judicial scandal are secretly begging for “mercy” for their clients.
According to him, although the said lawyers are publicly threatening to sue Anas Aremeyaw Anas- the journalist whose investigative work exposed the corruption in the judiciary- and others, they are privately sending messages to him (Baako) for pardon.
“Behind the scenes, they are trying to plead for their clients; it is repugnant and it gets me so angry. They are showing bad faith.
“They are in court seeking to jail people but behind the scenes, they are pleading for mercy….hypocrisy, lack of moral integrity. It’s not right.
“I want Ghanaians to know that sooner than later, I will take a decision and expose that person secretly asking for providence,” Baako, who works with Anas, fumed on Joy FM’s News File with host Samson Lardy Ayenini Saturday.
Meanwhile, twenty-two magistrates and judges who were also implicated in the scandal have already been suspended by the Judicial Council. The chief Justice has promised swift action and sanctions in the matter.
