PHD Ghana, a leading communications market agency, on Wednesday held what it termed the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Revolution debate for players in the media marketing sector in the country.
PHD Ghana Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bright Ladzekpo and Ashesi University professor of Computer Science Dr. Ayorkor Korsah spoke on the topic, ‘Man versus Machine: Will Tomorrow’s Artificial Intelligence Replace Today’s ‘Mad Men’
Furthermore, they used the occasion to launch PHD Worldwide’s latest book titled ‘Sentience: The Coming AI Revolution and the Implications for Marketing.’
The book has been designed to assist advertisers and other marketing institutions to survive the fast-growing global competition.
Dr. Korsah, who made a case for the future of robots and machines, said artificial intelligence holds the key for future development of the world and that Ghana could be left out in the emerging excitement.
“It is about possibilities and evaluation to make things get smarter,” she posited and added that the world was getting more sophisticated by the day.
Without ruling out the future contributions of machines in development, Mr. Ladzekpo argued that man’s input cannot also be downplayed.
He said PHD is committed to exploring the implications of the coming AI ‘revolution’ for marketing, advertising and journalism, as well as its impact on global economies of which Ghana plays a role.
“Artificial intelligence has impacted our daily lives, societies and economies and we have to persist in getting the best for the people.
