THREE ASPIRANTS out of the 81 who were hoping to secure the nod to represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in three constituencies of the Eastern Region to contest the 2016 parliamentary election, were disqualified when the vetting process ended last Wednesday.
The aspirants, Nick Arthur from the Nsawam constituency; Anthony Gyimah, Abuakwa North and Kwame Odame Dankwa, Fanteakwa North, were disqualified on the grounds that they failed to produce the necessary documentations.
The national communications officer of the party, Solomon Nkansah, told the media after the vetting that two deputy ministers, seven incumbent MPs, two regional executives, 11 metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) and five former MPs, among others, had been vetted and had consequently balloted for positions on the ballot paper.
The qualified candidates to battle for slots at the NDC parliamentary primaries slated for November 7, 2015 are Samuel Fleistcher Kwabi, Suhum constituency; Peter Simeon Asirifi, Abuakwa North; Derrick Ohene Asifi Bekoe, Adeiso; Thomas Ampem-Nyarko, Asuogyaman; Kwabena Asare Nkansah, Akim-Oda; Andrews Sodah, Yilo Krobo; Fuseini Abass-Sbaabe, Fanteakwa North; Tom Budu, Ofoase-Ayirebi; Windham Emil-Afram, Afram Plains North; Michael Ofori Darko, Ayensuano and Afari-Gyan, Aburi.
Others are Madam Betty Crosby Mensah, Aboagye Didieye, Charles Evans Apraku, Windham Emil Afram, Adamu Musah and Kpeli Wolase. Afram Plains South: Joseph Appiah Boateng, Francis Agbenyegah Kofi, Bismark Ofosu and Osei Owusu.
Inthe Mpraeso constituency are Koree Boakye Emmanuel and Kwame Anim Somuah; Abetifi: Tabi Emmanuel, Georgina Opoku and Samuel Asamoah; Nkawkaw: George Odame Rockson and Tamimu Halidu; Abirem: Mavis Ama Frimpong, the Deputy Regional Minister, is going unopposed; in Atiwa East: Foster Asante; Atiwa West: Amo Johnson and Abass Fuseini Sbaabe.
The former aspiring national deputy youth organizer, Abigail Elorm Mensah and Dr. Agyakwa Danquah are going to slug it out in Fanteakwa South, while in Abuakwa North it is only Siaw David Frempong. Abuakwa South will be having Owuraku Amofa, a former deputy minister and Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed to fight for a place at the party’s primaries. Suhum: Fleischer Samuel, Dale Nettey Marbel and Magaret Ansei.
