The Abor Awusie Twidan Royal Family of Gomoa Fetteh has accused the police at Kasoa and Gomoa Ojobi of conniving with landguards in the area to terrorise innocent people especially residents of Gomoa Fetteh.

The royal family made the accusation at a press conference on Monday in Accra attended by the queen mother of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Nkrabea I; Apedwahene, Nana Kofi Annan; an elder of the royal family, Dr Nii Odalai Lamptey and a host of other chiefs.

The spokesperson for the family, Nana Owusu Boamah noted that victims of the attacks including some members of the royal family have made several reports to the Kasoa and Ojobi police but no attempts have been made to arrest the hoodlums.

“The police at Ojobi and Kasoa cannot be trusted,” the spokesperson alleged asking ace investigative journalists to spend time to investigate alleged corrupt practices that prevail at the two police stations.

The Abor Awusie Twidan Royal Family also accused the police of supporting illegal activities of one Nana Abor Yamoah II, a self-styled chief of Gomoa Fetteh.

“We have a murder case against Nana Abor Yamoah II, this self-styled chief and one Kwesi Alhaji, his accomplice but they are walking freely,” the spokesperson said stressing that the two were implicated in the murder of the Abusuapayin and Mankrado of Fetteh Kakraba, Nana Okyere Pantu.

“Ladies and Gentlemen from the media another chief of Fetteh, Nana Ahomka who is here with us was nearly beaten to death allegedly by Nana Abor Yamoah’s boys headed by Kwesi Alhaji,” Nana Boamah said.

The spokesperson therefore called on the Inspector-General of Police and Chief Justice to use their good offices to investigate, arrest and prosecute all those maiming innocent people at Fetteh and its environs.

They also want the Chief Justice, Theodora Wood to use her good office to fast-track the resolution of a long standing chieftaincy dispute which is pending before the courts so that there will be peace in the area.
