Organisers of Ghana Movie Awards are now calling for producers to submit their movies, less than two months to the main awards ceremony.
This year’s awards will take place on December 30, 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
According to a press statement issued over the weekend, deadline for submission of movies is November 20. That indeed presents a short time space within which organisers would work on the entries and release nominations.
There are doubts that the already understaffed organisers can do a credible job within that short time space they have to work.
But the CEO of the awards, Fred Nuamah, said “this year’s awards will lift the already established desirable benchmark as its new partner, Silhouette Advertising, is well positioned to add the needed extra excellence.”
He stated among other things that “by convention submission of the 2015 entries opened immediately after last year’s Ghana Movie Awards. The official call for entries is necessary to serve as a reminder, especially when a deadline has been fixed.”
