The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has paid GH¢29 million into the consolidated fund, Director-General of the Authority, Brigadier General (Rtd) Martin Ahiaglo has stated.

He mentioned that the amount represents 90 percent of its target, adding that it constitutes more than 150 percent of contributions made in 2014.

The director general was hopeful his outfit would reach 100 percent by the close of the year.

He made the disclosure this week at a brief ceremony held at the NLA’s courtyard to launch its Customer Service Week, which is under the theme, ‘Your Smile Makes a Customers Day.’

Brg. Gen. Ahiaglo, who reiterated the importance of customer service week, averred that “in today’s customer-oriented business environment, the manner in which you handle your customers can directly affect an organization’s goals and its performance and in NLA we realize that customer service is everyone’s responsibility.”

He added that NLA has also instituted its three-year Innovative Strategy for Growth as one of its pillars to promote a customer-centric culture with the customer at the forefront of every activity.

He said that NLA has used its new 7,400 new Point of Sale Terminals (POST) acquired in August, this year to augment the current stock, adding that the authority operates over 29,000 POSTs in all.

The retired soldier also mentioned that the NLA has also improved the payment of commissions to Lotto Marketing Companies.

The Deputy Minister of Finance, Mona Quartey, urged the authority to offer quality services to their customers and put adequate measures in place to attract more customers.

Mrs. Quartey commended them for contributing to the Consolidated Fund and urged them to continue to do more.

Dr. George Gyamfi, Director of Operations, said several activities, which include public awareness campaign on the activities of NLA and fun games, had been lined up for the week.
