Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a 5-4 penalty win over archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko to lift this year’s President’s Cup at the Accra Stadium yesterday.
The win was Hearts’ second streak victory over Kotoko, having defeated the Porcupine Warriors 1-0 in a league clash at the Baba Yara Stadium six months ago.
Both sides failed to hit the back of the net despite the fine football and goal scoring attempts they created from start to finish.
But it was Hearts who came close to scoring on many occasions to keep goalkeeper Ofori Antwi on his toes throughout the entire period, with his counterpart Soulama Abdulai virtually inactive especially in the first half.
