SCORES OF Kotoko fans in Kumasi have appealed to the club’s owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu Tutu II, the Asantehene, to save the club from collapse.

They said Kotoko was currently being managed by Opoku Nti, who according to them, did not have the expertise to steer the affairs of the club.

The fans therefore called for the immediate removal of Opoku Nti in order to save Kotoko from collapse.

DAILY GUIDE SPORTS conducted a vox-pop among Kotoko fans to know their reaction over the six-points deduction of the club’s accumulated points in the league following the featuring of an unqualified player.

Interestingly, most of the Kotoko supporters blamed Opoku Nti for being the source of the club’s problems.

“Opoku Nti is not competent and he is sending Kotoko into the abyss so he must be sacked without delay,” Kennedy Otchere, a Kotoko fan, stated.

According to him, as a former footballer, Opoku Nti ought to have known better to avoid the issue which brought the points deduction.

Maame Yaa of Asokwa, another Kotoko fan, said the club had been retrogressing since Opoku Nti came into office, while Kwaku Adu, a trader at the Central Market, noted that the man had let Kotoko down at this crucial stage of the league season.

Opanin Akwasi Sika, on his part, suggested that Otumfuo should appoint a competent person in Opoku Nti’s place to save the club from further distress.

Other Kotoko fans urged Opoku Nti and his management to honourably resign since it had become apparent that the club was too big for them.

According to them, if care was not taken Opoku Nti would send Kotoko to relegation for the first time in the club’s rich history.
