
Two welders were yesterday remanded by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defiling an 11 year old minor.
The accused persons, William Geh, 18 and Edze Reuben also 18 were said to have on July 26 this year at Oyibi in Accra had an unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.
The prosecutions led by ACP Moses Atibilla alleged that the duo forcibly had sex with the victim in turns in a nearby bush in their vicinity.
However, the accused persons appearing before trial judge Aboagye Taandoh denied the charge and they were accordingly remanded into police custody to re-appear on August 13, 2015.
The facts of the case as presented by ACP Atibilla were that the accused persons are apprentices at Wisdom Welding and Metal Works at Oyibi.
He said the victim is a primary three pupil at Seduase Primary School also at Oyibi whilst the complainant is a mason with whom the victim stays.
According to ACP Atibilla, during the early part of July this year, the accused persons lured the victim into a nearby bush about 50 meters away from their shop and forcibly had sex with her.
He said at about 6pm on the said date, the victim was returning from an errand and on reaching their shop the accused persons once again lured her to their shop, tied her hands with rope and forcibly had sex with her in turns till she started bleeding.
ACP Atibilla said the victim reported her ordeal to the complainant who lodged a formal complaint at the police station and the accused persons were arrested.
